Stress Management Course
The International Academy Institute for Training, in partnership with the Social Development Center in Medina, presented a course titled "Stress Management" This will take place on Sunday, the 13th of Ramadan in the year 1442 AH at 11 PM for a duration of two hours, and the course was given by Dr. Firas Mohsen Al-Harbi, the educational supervisor at the Education Administration of Medina, a broadcaster on Saudi television and Wujud Channel, a certified trainer in human development, and a media, educational, social, and psychological consultant, and the course was presented by the media figure Ms. Hattaf Tarabishi via Zoom (zoom) and live broadcast on YouTube by the ACADEMION International Training Institute.
A person goes through various types of stress in their daily life, and this stress can negatively affect their life and health in the long term, hindering their life journey either academically, professionally, socially, or within the family, and can sometimes lead to various types of mental illnesses, primarily depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. From this standpoint, Dr. Firas Al-Harbi presented this course, starting with a definition of stress and then discussing several key points.
Dr. Al-Harbi pointed out the components of stress that may arise from noise, light and visual pollution, and congestion. He also explained the types of stress that stem from family pressures, work pressures, emotional and academic pressures, pressures from friends, as well as political pressures, rumors, and social and economic pressures.
Dr. Al-Harbi also clarified the impact of stress on a person's daily life and their health and psychological state, as these stresses can lead to physical and severe psychological diseases, some of which are mild and others chronic and difficult to treat. These stresses can make a person sad, negative, and depressed, and can disrupt thinking, concentration, and lead to memory weakness and the ability to make sound decisions, as well as affect a person's behavior, turning them into an aggressive and angry individual who tends to isolation and loneliness.
Dr. Al-Harbi also addressed the factors that influence the response to stress, mentioning signs and symptoms of psychological stress that may be physiological, behavioral, emotional, mental, and social, and he explained the most important tips for overcoming these stresses.
At the end of the course, Dr. Al-Harbi thanked the attendees and wished everyone a life free from stress and negative thoughts that could lead to physical and mental illnesses, and that everyone enjoys health, comfort, and tranquility.
After the course, the electronic newspaper Oyun Al-Madina spoke with Dr. Al-Harbi, who added: We learn from this course the arts of dealing with stress by understanding the types of stress, their sources, and their effects on our lives, and how we can change our way of thinking in dealing with all types of stress. It is important to know how to manage life stresses and also to identify their sources, and in this Ramadan evening a lot of useful information about behaviors, emotions, perception, and awareness in dealing with various types of stress and negative feelings. More than 200 trainees attended this course remotely through the virtual Zoom room and the ACADEMION International Training Institute channel on YouTube.
