Love in the Life of the Beloved (peace be upon him)
The International Academy Institute for Training, in partnership with the Social Development Center in Medina, presented a course titled "Love in the Life of the Beloved (peace be upon him)" This was on Tuesday, the 8th of Ramadan in the year 1442 AH at exactly 11 PM, and the course was given by Dr. Abdullah Al-Abbasi, a researcher in the landmarks and heritage of Medina and the general supervisor of Nasmat Tayba Channel and a tour guide, and the course was presented by the media figure, Ms. Hattaf Tarabishi via Zoom (zoom) and live broadcast on YouTube by the ACADEMION International Training Institute.
Dr. Abdullah began the course by raising the question of why we need love? And the concept of love, as love is akin to faith, and Islam places love in its highest forms as it is an act of worship for which a person is rewarded. Among the names of Medina are the beloved and cherished city, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, called for love of Medina in the hadith: "O Allah, make us love Medina as we love Mecca or even more". With this love, the Prophet, peace be upon him, united the Emigrants and the Helpers after his arrival in Medina.
Dr. Al-Abbasi pointed to the Prophet's, peace be upon him, love for his wife, Lady Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, where he said, "I was granted her love" and when he married Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, he loved her immensely.
Dr. Al-Abbasi explained love in inanimate objects and mentioned the story of the tree trunk that would moan and cry, and how the Prophet, peace be upon him, would calm it with his gentle touches and embrace, and how Mount Uhud trembled when the Chosen One, peace be upon him, ascended it in joy and love for the Prophet, and in the hadith: "Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it". Among the Prophet's, peace be upon him, love for Medina is that he made Mount Uhud one of the mountains of Paradise, and the Valley of Al-Aqiq is one of the blessed valleys, and what lies between his house and his pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.
Dr. Al-Abbasi also highlighted the importance of love in married life; the more the essence of married life is regulated by love, manners, and noble values, the more noble the behaviors of its parties become, which significantly affects the final outcome of the overall societal fabric. He emphasized the necessity of expressing love between spouses to increase harmony, enhance affection, and spread mercy among them. The love of the Chosen One, peace be upon him, for his wife, Lady Aisha, is the most beautiful example of love between spouses and the greatest role model for couples in good marital conduct. Thus, revelation spoke about her, indicating that she is one of Allah's signs that require reflection and contemplation, as He said: (And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought.).
Dr. Al-Abbasi mentioned emotional skills, the most important of which are love, then patience, then being a role model. The skill of love is not complete unless you love for your Muslim brother what you love for yourself, and Allah will compensate a person with more than that love. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." He also mentioned methods of applying the skill of love, which include spreading peace, showing respect and praise, mercy, emotional sharing, and providing help and assistance.
Finally, Dr. Al-Abbasi concluded the course by thanking the attendees and wishing everyone had benefited from the course, hoping for everyone a happy life and successful interactions with others.
