An intellectual seminar on digital transformations and future visions for Arab media as part of the Smart Media Conference activities
The second international interdisciplinary conference on media and communication in the smart age – Digital Transformations and Future Horizons, organized by ACADEMION International University, witnessed an important scientific seminar titled: "The Future of Smart Media: Multiple Axes and Growing Challenges," held on Friday, September 20, 2025, via Zoom, with the participation of a select group of researchers, academics, and experts in the field of media.
The seminar addressed several key axes, most notably the role of media in enhancing societal awareness about development and social justice, educational media in the proper upbringing of children and youth, alongside digital transformations and future visions for Arab media and the challenges associated with global competitiveness and the use of artificial intelligence technologies while preserving cultural identity.
Participating in the seminar were Professor Dr. Amal Saad Al-Mutawali – a full professor of media at the Faculty of Specific Education, Mansoura University, and Dr. Amani Shawqi Yasha, an assistant professor at ACADEMION International University, and a media figure at the National Media Authority, who provided rich interventions on the challenges and opportunities facing Arab media in the digital age. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Jihan Sabak Al-Ahmed – an associate professor of digital media at the Faculty of Media and Communication, and the program and training course coordinator at ACADEMION International University.
Speakers and attendees emphasized that smart media has become an urgent necessity in light of rapid global transformations, stressing the importance of investing in artificial intelligence technologies according to ethical standards, and developing the capabilities of media professionals through specialized training programs, in addition to supporting educational media as a tool for building a conscious and responsible generation.
The seminar concluded with a set of visions confirming that the future requires more innovative and impactful Arab media, capable of utilizing modern technology to serve society and Arab issues.
